Luke, our 5-year old son, was initially diagnosed with Scoliosis and soon after we discovered he had Chiara Malformation and Syringomelia, all of which are most likely related. Our seemingly endless search for information was the best thing we could do as parents...and the worst...
About Luke
Luke is a 5-year old boy with 2 older brothers (7 and 11) and a younger sister (1). He loves soccer and baseball and enjoys watching his favorite Star Wars movies 3 or 4 times consecutively.

I did not know anything was going on until someone at church this morning ask us to pray for the Trexler family. I just checked my e-mail and was reading about what's going on with Luke. I have never heard of this so I googled it and read a little about it. I am saddened by what's going on with Luke and the hard decisions you are facing. I don't know what to say except,put your faith in Christ and try to be Positive and do not underestimate the power of prayer.At the church I attend I have seen many answered prayers such as cancer removed and drug addictions cured.Please know that our family and our church body will be praying for Luke and your family.God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 I know you don't know us real well,but we are here for you, please do not hesitate to call if you need anything!
You guys know that we are here for what ever you need. Let us know if you need kids shuttled, someone to talk to (Chris is a good listener), or just knowing we are here - whatever. We will get you guys on our prayer chain Tuesday night.

Just want you to know that each member of your family is in my prayers regularly. I also pray that God guides the hands of Luke's surgeon on Wednesday. Remember -- you have a whole church family who is praying for Luke and is ready to help in any way we can. We love you!

We are back in PA and ready to help with whatever you need whether it be with kids or the house. If you need me in Hershey I'm on my way. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I have put Luke on my aunt's prayer chain that she sends to hundreds of friends throughout the country.

Randy and Rhonda, I just want you to know that your family are being upheld in prayer tonight by your church family and friends. I know in my heart that Jesus will be with Luke tomorrow before, during, and after the surgery holding his hand and comforting him as the doctors work to correct his condition. I will be thinking of you all tomorrow throughout the day asking for God's healing hand to be guiding the hands of the surgeons. I also pray that God will be with you all as you wait upholding and comforting you in a very difficult time of uncertainty. Please know also that you have a great deal of support waiting here in Martinsburg to assist you and your family however we can.
And finally, Luke my little buddy, I will be waiting for you to share more of your funny jokes and humor that we shared while camping. We love you and ask God's blessing upon you.
